Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Ophthalmic Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist doctors in providing high-quality eye care by performing various clinical tasks and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic. This role requires a strong understanding of optometry and ophthalmology, medical terminology, and patient care practices.
Duties
- Conduct preliminary testing, including visual acuity tests, OCT, photography and tonometry.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare patients for examination by reviewing their medical history and current medications.
- Educate patients about eye health, treatment options, and post-operative care.
- Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated for use.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Handle medical coding for procedures performed during patient visits.
Skills
- Knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to eye care.
- Familiarity with ophthalmology practices and procedures.
- Understanding of medical terminology and coding systems.
- Experience working in a clinical setting, preferably in an ophthalmology or optical environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- A tech with refracting experience is highly desirable, but we will train the right candidate. No evenings or weekends, 3 weeks PTO, all new equipment, health, dental, vision benefits offered. Nice office environment with well trained staff.
