What You’ll Do:
- Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety for yourself and others at all times. Exercise good judgment regarding work site access, loading, unloading, and operation to and from work site.
- Road Tractor Operation. Operate a truck and trailer to haul and dry powder materials such as slag and cement.
- Daily Inspections. Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Complete daily mobile equipment reports and other relevant documentation with accuracy. Must be able to handle and understand Department of Transportation regulations, keeping all documentation up to date.
- Maintain Equipment. Maintain equipment performance by checking vehicle fluid levels and reporting any unsafe mechanical conditions.
- Monitor Surroundings. Monitor your surroundings when operating equipment in and out of the quarry and job site. Report any necessary maintenance or adjustments that may be required to ensure safety.
- Customer Service. Maintain good customer relations by acting in a professional, kind, and courteous manner.
- Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills You’ll Need:
- Experience. Previous experience pulling tankers is highly preferred.
- Ready to Drive. Must possess a commercial driver’s license and have a valid DOT physical or the ability to get one.
- Knowledge of Best Practices. Knowledge of general principles and practices of operating and servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred. Experience with Department of Transportation rules and regulations for transporting heavy equipment is preferred.
- Flexibility. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. On average, drivers work 50-60 hours per week.
- Clean Driving Record. Must posses a clean driving record.
- Drug Testing. Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug testing.
