Position Duties / Responsibilities
Develops a comprehensive knowledge of NCAA and Southland Conference rules and regulations, as well as other educational materials published by these organizations
Process admission applications for student athletes. This includes determining of admissibility of applicants by adhering to and independently applying rules, policies, and regulations mandated by the Louisiana Board of Regents, the Louisiana Legislature, the University of Louisiana System, and McNeese State University as well as computing grade point averages to equate with University standards. Scrutinize applicant data to determine residency, classification, entry status, eligibility, transferability of credit, and the need for additional documentation
Complete eligibility certification form and obtain appropriate signatures in a timely manner
Communicate with faculty and other administrative offices via telephone, email and in person regarding student-athletes' academic progress
Complete daily review of student-athletes' enrollment to ensure compliance with NCAA full-time enrollment requirement
Maintain accurate records on each student athlete / sport
Monitors academic eligibility issues, which have the potential of developing into a rules violation and advises the Registrar and the institution's compliance director about matters, which may require investigative efforts to resolve.
Completes the institution's NCAA academic progress rate report and submits it to the NCAA. This includes uploading data to CAI 2.0.
Assist with interpretations of NCAA rules
Assist athletic support staff with determining eligibility of student-athlete recruits including review of high school and college transcripts
Assist with preparation of Graduation Success Rates (GSR)
Collaborate and communicate with athletics compliance staff
Audit all grades changed in Banner to ensure accurate processing and documentation
Submit enrollment, graduation, and withdrawal information to National Student Clearinghouse. This includes working error reports to ensure NSC data standards adhered to
Implementing and maintaining Degree Works Student Education Planner (SEP). SEP is a semester by semester degree audit that can be customized after being assigned to a student.
Consistently monitor and revise work procedures to improve operations and recommend policy changes to administrators
Maintain an up-to-date process and procedure manual pertaining to NCAA certification both within and outside the Office of the Registrar and Admissions
Complete other duties as assigned by the Registrar and Director of Admissions or Executive Director of Enrollment Management

Ability to thoroughly understand and abide by federal and university guidelines regarding student record confidentiality requirements
Proficiency in the use of computers; knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications; and ability to search and obtain information from the internet
Preferred :
Experience with NCAA eligibility and certification regulations or knowledge of NCAA Division I and Southland Conference athletic eligibility rules
Knowledge of transfer evaluation
Experience with Ellucian Banner and Ellucian Degree Works
Experience with NCAA Apps
Experience in professional office
