SUMMARY: Responsible for the efficient operation of the hotel’s laundry department, ensuring that all linens and towels are cleaned, dried, folded, and stored in accordance with hotel standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment according to proper procedures.
- Sorts, washes, dries, folds, and stores linens, towels, and other hotel laundry items.
- Ensures all laundry is cleaned and processed in accordance with brand and company standards.
- Handles contaminated laundry according to company, franchise, and OSHA regulations.
- Inspects finished laundry to ensure high-quality standards are met.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of the laundry room and storage areas.
- Monitors and maintains inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and linens; informs Assistant General Managers of stock needs.
- Reports any maintenance issues, equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or injuries to the supervisor or management.
- Completes safety training and certifications as required.
- Assists housekeeping staff by delivering clean linens and retrieving soiled items.
- Follows all company policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. A minimum of 3 months of hotel laundry, housekeeping, or equivalent experience preferred.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently.
- Basic knowledge of laundry equipment operation.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Will be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Exposure to heat, humidity, cleaning agents, and chemicals.
- Requires standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 lbs.
