Job Description
We seek a dynamic and purposeful Operations Manager to lead our Facility Services division. This key role is responsible for driving business growth, developing client proposals, overseeing small project execution, and maintaining strong client relationships within our Facility Services team. The ideal candidate is a methodical thinker with a hands-on approach who thrives in a demanding environment and has a deep understanding of construction, facility management, and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development - Identify and pursue new business opportunities across commercial and institutional markets. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
Project Management - Oversee the execution of small to mid-size facility projects from initiation to close-out. Coordinate with internal crews, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure quality and timeline compliance. Monitor project budgets, schedules, and safety compliance.
Client Relationship Management - Maintain regular communications with clients to ensure satisfaction and ongoing service improvement. Function as a primary point of contact for client issues and resolution. Conduct periodic performance reviews and ensure service level agreements are satisfied.
Estimates & Proposals - Lead the development of accurate cost estimates for facility services projects. Collaborate with internal estimators to prepare, write, and deliver proposals. Ensure proposals align with client needs, company capabilities, and profitability goals.
Contract Negotiation - Lead the negotiation of service agreements and project contracts. Ensure terms meet both client expectations and company standards for risk and profitability. Coordinate legal and compliance review as needed.
Financial & Budget Oversight - Assist in developing and managing operational budgets and ensure financial metrics are achieved. Identify cost-saving initiatives and drive operational efficiencies without compromising service quality.
Team Oversight & Development - Interview, hire, and manage field technicians to ensure the personal growth of these individuals. Maintain a positive environment focused on quality work and growth.
Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field is preferred.
A strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems. Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and scheduling. Proficient in interpreting plans and specs - Ability to develop & prepare accurate estimates and schedules, negotiate terms, and manage projects and service agreements to completion.
- Demonstrated expertise in prioritizing tasks & managing multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to identify, assess, and resolve problems and issues related to facility operations and contracted projects.
- Ability to create, manage, and track budgets for projects and facility operations.
- Technology proficiency. Familiarity with CMS software, including Procore, Spectrum, Serve Tech, SharePoint, etc.
- Understanding of safety regulations, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information, delegate tasks, and resolve issues.
- Analytical & strategic thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration
- Skilled in building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, staff, contractors, and vendors.
- Aptitude to lead and motivate a team, including subcontractors and support staff.
