The McPherson County Noxious Weed Department is seeking a Full-time County NoxiousWeed Director. Minimum age of 18, valid Kansas Driver's License, and High School Diploma/GED are required. Some college is helpful as is a farm background. Must have orbe willing to obtain a Commercial Class B Driver's license (CDL) with air brake classification and tank endorsement during the initial employment introductory period.
Must attend and pass the Kansas Department of Agriculture basic training course and obtain Category 6 and 9a certification for the application of herbicides.
Duties include overseeing the Noxious Weed Department, supervising two staff employees, meeting the requirements of the Kansas Noxious Weed Law, completing the department line item budget, completing the State required noxious weed management plan, and annual report, and inspection of the the State assigned sections for noxious weeds.
This safety sensitive position requires participation in the County Drug and Alcohol Program
Beginning hourly wage: $34.00 depending on qualifications and experience.
