The Blytheville School District, Blytheville, Arkansas, Board of Education, is seeking a highly qualified Superintendent. The Board wishes to have the successful candidate assume the responsibilities of the position July 1, 2025.
McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development has been engaged as the consultant in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the Board of Education in identifying and screening the candidates.

Location: eastern Arkansas, 70 miles north of Memphis, 183 miles northeast of Little Rock
The Qualifications
The candidate must have the background, skills, and abilities essential for excellence in educational leadership. The Board recognizes that selecting a superintendent is one of the most important decisions it will make.
The Blytheville School District Board of Education is seeking a Superintendent:
Criteria # 1
Who is eligible for a license or licensed in Arkansas and five years of administrative experience is preferred in schools similar to the Blytheville School District.
Criteria # 2
Who has an understanding and experience in school finance, involved in creating a budget and has been accountable to the Board of Education for abiding by the budget for a fiscal year. Who has a business sense, knowledgeable of school law, values the importance of following District policy, and recognizes the importance of learning from past mistakes.
Criteria # 3
Who is a visionary leader, understands the necessity to be open to change, has experience in leading an instructional team, understands the process of improving student performance is difficult, and has success as a Turn-A-Round leader.
Criteria # 4
Who is strong in communication skills, approachable, a people person, a good listener, transparent, performs well when under pressure or in conflict resolution, a person of integrity, and becomes engaged in the community.
Criteria # 5
Who has a diverse background, understands the delta culture, and is sensitive to the needs of students served in this environment.
