Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the engineering staff, instilling a strong culture of customer service, empowerment, and adherence to operational procedures.
- Design and manage work schedules for the engineering team, ensuring efficiency and compliance with hotel standards.
- Develop and manage an annual departmental budget to drive financial planning and resource allocation.
- Engage in monthly financial reviews, contributing to forecasts and profit / loss discussions.
- Create and implement proactive maintenance plans for hotel property, equipment, and grounds to ensure they are always in excellent condition.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Establish and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all hotel systems.
- Maintain all emergency and life safety equipment, ensuring it is regularly inspected and tested.
- Address room maintenance requests promptly and courteously to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Investigate alarms swiftly to determine cause and urgency, reporting findings to the Front Desk for immediate action.
- Assist in special projects and renovations as required.
- Participate actively in energy conservation initiatives.
- Review guest feedback regularly to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure accommodations meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
- Instruct staff on safety protocols, including the Hazardous Chemical Program (OSHA).
- Manage vendor contracts related to the engineering department effectively.
