POSITION TITLE:
Delivery Driver, School Nutrition
RESPONSIBLE TO:
Director of School Nutrition and Supervising Training Manager
JOB CLASSIFICATION:
Classified. 210 days

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
To deliver to various off-site school nutrition programs and to maintain the supplies in the Marietta City Schools warehouse under the supervision of the School Nutrition Director and Supervising Training Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Minimum high school diploma or GED. Georgia Driver’s License.
Serve Safe Certified Preferred. Warehouse Manager – Food Services 2
Experience:
One year experience in warehousing operation, preferably institutional foods.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
- Delivers to off-site school nutrition programs on a timely basis.
- Distribute USDA commodities within local school system.
- Transfer food products from one school to another as needed.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks and services on truck and other equipment on a weekly or otherwise scheduled basis.
- Handle Free & Reduced mails at peak times of the school year.
- Review freezer and cooler temperatures daily (at all schools) and communicate discrepancies to Supervising Manager.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and cleaning in schools.
- Receive and deliver small equipment to schools.
- Conduct physical inventory counts monthly.
- Conduct assessment management at schools.
- Exercise proper use and care of equipment.
- Implement and practice established safety standards, HACCP.
- Perform any other reasonable duties requested by the School Nutrition Director.

Work Environment:
Ability to work in environment with extreme temperature ranges (0- degree freezers to 90 degree summer warehouse temperatures). Work environment is usually quiet.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Ability to maintain inventory on system software
Ability to lift boxes weighing 50 pounds on a continuous basis.
Ability to maintain and account for warehousing operation.
Ability to safely use a pallet jack and walking fork lifts in the confined spaces of the MCS warehouse and freezer.
Ability to safely use a two-wheeled hand truck to move food and supplies in and out of school store rooms, coolers and freezers.
Ability to deal with a variety of positions and personalities (delivery people, central office staff, maintenance staff, and school food service employees) in a pleasant manner.
