Description

PAY: $144,000 - $168,000

JOB SUMMARY:  MCSG Technologies is seeking a Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Developer to support the 392d Combat Training Squadron’s (392 CTS) efforts to design, plan, and execute deployment of the Space Wargaming Analysis, Readiness, and Mission-Planner (SWARM) capability to approved USSF units and Combatant Command (CCMD) exercises.  The M&S Developer on the SWARM Deployment team will provide initial SWARM training for units requesting a SWARM Perpetual License.  The initial training will include how to use SWARM to develop basic to intermediate-level orbital and terrestrial models and build basic scenarios.  The M&S Developer will also support USSF exercise events when not supporting critical SWARM Deployment activities. This position is at Schriever Space Force Base, CO, and requires on-site support.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Support the development and execution of a concept of operations (CONOPS) and a comprehensive strategy for deploying SWARM to non-392 CTS USSF units.
  • Design, plan, and execute a comprehensive training package to include milestones and deliverables for SWARM training at SWARM-deployed locations as part of SWARM deployment solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners, including government stakeholders, to gather, document, and manage SWARM training requirements at SWARM-deployed locations.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate potential risks during the SWARM deployment process.
  • Maintain detailed records of SWARM training processes, updates, challenges, and resolutions at SWARM-deployed locations to support internal tracking, ensure accurate record-keeping, and enable continuous review and improvement of the training program.
  • Identify gaps and shortfalls in current M&S tools and recommend solutions to provide timely, realistic exercise capabilities.
  • Participate as part of the Exercise Control Group (ECG) and White Cell, as required, for various 392 CTS-hosted exercises and mission-focused events.
  • Capture, analyze, and report observations and lessons learned identified during the design, planning, and execution of 392 CTS-hosted exercises and mission-focused events.
  • Support hot wash debriefs and After Action Report development for applicable exercises or mission-focused events.
  • Attend technical interchange meetings (TIM), in-progress reviews, and programmatic-level meetings related to 392 CTS-sponsored USSF exercises and mission-focused events.
  • Develop schedules, plans, and briefings; coordinate and monitor activities; and report on those activities through trip reports, briefings, meeting minutes, point papers, quad charts, etc.
  • Attend weekly organizational meetings, as necessary, to maintain awareness of the 392 CTS leadership priorities, tasks, and issues.
  • Carry out tasks as directed by contract leadership required to ensure 392 CTS mission success.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience using STK, ODTK, or other M&S tools to plan analysis of orbital maneuvers, build functional orbital and space terrestrial models (e.g., space domain awareness (SDA), communications, electronic warfare, directed energy), and develop exercise scenarios.
  • Experience supporting modeling, simulation, and analysis of national space-related problems.
  • Experience modeling space scenarios for system evaluation and mission effectiveness.
  • Experience (i.e., a basic proficiency) in coding languages (e.g., Python, Matlab, Perl).
  • Experience in orbit analysis and prediction.
  • This position requires travel (5-10 weeks/year, depending on approved deployment sites).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Level III certified in STK
  • Previously certified Orbital Analyst
  • Experience managing projects from initial design to completion.
  • Graduate of Space 300 and the 319 CTS/ASOPS Advanced Orbital Mechanics courses

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 years working in or for DoD organizations.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Top Secret/SCI Security.
