Job Description
McWane Plant and Industrial in Calera, Alabama, is seeking an experienced Assembler to join our fabrication and machining operation. This position is responsible for the assembly of small and large valves. This includes but is not limited to the assembly of parts, subassemblies, and components, as well as testing, loading / unloading, and palletizing finished products.
Scope of Responsibilities
- 1st Responsibility - Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.
- Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Wears appropriate PPE, including fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head, and eye protection.
- Responsible for cleanliness of the assigned work area and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Proactively promotes the McWane Way principles.
- Prepares work by studying assembly instructions and parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Positions parts and components by using work instructions.
- Verifies specifications by testing products and visually inspecting quality.
- Assembles products using hand tools and other equipment.
- Resolves verifiable assembly problems to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources if needed
- Palletizes and gets product ready for shipment once complete.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies
- Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing production requirements as needed.

Hourly Rate : $22.22-$24.34 plus $3 shift differential
