Job Description
Summary
Provides excellent leadership. Coordinates activities of team members engaged in repair, maintenance, installation of machines and equipment for the machine shop or other departments by performing the following duties through assigned personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties to be assigned or directed)
- Develop and maintain a maintenance team built on excellence using the McWane Way Core Values.
- Develop and implement a repair training program for CNC equipment that provides top level knowledge for team members.
- Implement top level preventive maintenance program that provides expected machine uptime, cost reduction on parts and labor costs.
- Ensure the PM schedule is completed each week with minimum to no delays.
- Ensure all PM checklist are completed, the equipment is checked and verified to meet the PM requirements, address shortfalls immediately.
- Work with department supervisors to ensure that the weekly machine operator PM'S are complete and meet the expectations.
- Evaluate completed repairs to ensure the repair meets expectation and determine if a follow-up is required.
- Set the expectation for completed repairs that ensure the jobsite is clean and all old parts are disposed of properly.
- Attend the 9am daily machine shop production meeting to report complete shop maintenance update.
- Monitor maintenance repair time to ensure accurate downtime is reported, notify production when repair is complete to ensure efficiency.
- Track maintenance overtime to ensure proper utilization.
- Establish and maintain monthly maintenance spending report with running total to attach to requisition on each purchase to understand spending on each machine.
- Develop process to record and report all machine downtime.
- Initiates or suggests programs and procedures that encourage employee advancement within the organization and fosters a sense of urgency and continuing education and development within the maintenance department.
- Establish team member work schedules based on production and project needs.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Suggests opportunities for capital expansion or replacement projects that result in increased efficiency, reliability, and overall profit.

Education and / or Experience
LEADERSHIP SKILLS

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
