The Repairs Division is seeking an Assistant Controller to support our growing business at our 250,000 square foot Turbine-Generator Repair Facility in St. Louis, MO.
The Assistant Controller position supports the day-to-day finance and accounting operations of the Repairs Division. In this role, you will be responsible for all accounting activities and systems; enforcing accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting; implementing and monitoring internal controls; and supporting the local finance and accounting staff. The Assistant Controller reports to the Divisional Controller and works closely with the General Managers of the Repairs Division in St. Louis.

The Assistant Controller position supports the day-to-day finance and accounting operations of the Repairs Division. In this role, you will be responsible for all accounting activities and systems; enforcing accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting; implementing and monitoring internal controls; and supporting the local finance and accounting staff. The Assistant Controller reports to the Divisional Controller and works closely with the General Managers of the Repairs Division in St. Louis.
Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:
- Support an accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity
- Support the month-end close process
- Prepare and post journal entries to the General Ledger
- Prepare General Ledger account reconciliations
- Support job setup and job closing in the ERP system
- Perform high-level analysis of job costs and margins, including as bid vs. as executed
- Work directly with Operations team to forecast production hours and overhead positions
- Review customer invoicing and manage milestone billing
- Provide the accounts payable team with GR/IR support, control open Purchase Orders
- Review time capture for job costing accuracy and controllership of labor time reporting
- Assist with revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets
- Identify risks and areas for improvement in internal processes and controls
- Implement and utilize technology tools to improve process efficiencies and data accuracy
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. CPA or MBA preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ experience
- Strong analytical mindset
- Ability to communicate effectively to key operational stakeholders
- Self-identifies areas of need and takes initiative to implement solutions
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables & V- Lookups) and PowerPoint
- Experience using an ERP system such as Epicor or SAP
- Familiarity with BlackLine, Power BI, and SAP Concur a plus
- Inventory and Job Costing accounting experience a plus
