Position Summary - Associate Director
The purpose of the Associate Director position is to provide skilled leadership to a team of Contract Managers with a principal focus on sourcing, contracting, category strategies, customer relationship management and supplier relationship management. The sourcing will consist of goods, equipment, and/or services for all UTS and Affiliate Institutions. Interacts with customers; internal and external, and institutional stakeholders in identifying strategic sourcing opportunities via spend analytics. Position reports to the Executive Director and impacts every UT System or Affiliate customer that utilizes the Alliance agreements.

Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Science, Healthcare, or Business-related field.
Preferred Education
Master's degree in business, management, hospital administration, supply chain management, or related field.
Experience
CTCD (Certified Texas Contract Developer (State of Texas) and CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) must be obtained within 18 months of employment.
Work Schedule
100% remote anywhere in Texas. No out of state. Must be able to attend in-person meetings as required.
Other Requirements
Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.

- Manages Sourcing and Contracting team in daily tasks
- Provides guidance in developing request for proposals
- Support contract negotiations
- Contract administration support
- Affiliate member management support
- Group Purchasing Organizations management support
- Assess aggregation spend opportunities
- Ensures compliance with state regulatory requirements
- Conduct market intelligence of GPO landscape
- Reporting on analytics and strategic sourcing opportunities
- Collaborates/Partners with AD peer, Alliance leaders, suppliers and institutional stakeholders
- Direct, plan and coordinate recruitment, resource management and team performance management

Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Science, Healthcare, or Business-related field.
Preferred Education

Experience
- Required Experience: Eight years of managerial experience in strategic sourcing or contract management. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and/or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Completion of both programs can be substituted for a maximum of two years of supervisory or management experience.
- Preferred Experience/Skills: Minimum 10 years of progressive managerial experience leading strategic sourcing, contract management, vendor performance functions, strategic operational planning within the healthcare or academic arena. Analytical and supply chain data driven. State procurement experience is a plus.
