What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Care Technician, ER (ACCC) 11a -11p position at MD Anderson Cancer Center?
Our Acute Cancer Care Center provides emergency services to our critically ill patients, utilizing 42 beds, including 2 Resuscitation Rooms. We are a specialized unit that is dedicated to our Cancer patients, pediatrics through adults.
Ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of recent experience working as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources. Prefer one year of recent experience working in direct patient care.
SHIFT: 11a - 11p, rotating weekends and holidays.
The Patient Care Technician provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse. Impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.
Essential Job Functions
Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs. Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge and obtaining vital signs. Updates and retrieves patient information. Ensures patient environment
Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
