What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Consultant - Chief Quality and Value Officer position at MD Anderson Cancer Center?
The ideal candidate will have a RN license and / or have a Master's degree in Health Informatics or a related field.
The primary purpose this position, is to oversee, coordinate, plan, and direct projects focused on supporting strong performance in federal reporting and key strategic initiatives through the development of well-designed, thoughtful, clinical workflows. The role requires a thorough understanding clinical and electronic health record workflows to facilitate data extraction for reporting in federal and other programs and ensure that workflows are designed to support the regulatory requirements and strategic aims of the organization.
This role requires an understanding of health care policy, CMS regulations, federal incentive programs (MACRA / MIPS), MIPS Value Pathways (MVP), SEER / staging programs, and cancer registries. Strong candidates should have experience in the healthcare industry and working in a physician group practice (private or academic) and a documented history of using workflow changes to drive performance improvement projects. Experience in project management and data analytics is also desired.

- Ensures that required quality measures are delivered per federal, state and regulations.
- Identifies clinical quality metrics to meet reporting requirements while maintaining alignment with organizational quality goals.
- Works with clinical stakeholders to adjust workflows to meet both organizational clinical objectives and quality reporting objectives.
- Applies clinical knowledge to provide context and guidance to measures.
- Serves as a clinical resource in metric development and data abstraction.
- Facilitates and assists with development and maintenance of clinical metrics and participates in the development and design of abstraction tools and methodologies.
- Works with the data reporting team to develop processes and automations for reporting measures.

Master's degree in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration or related field. Three years of experience in Health Informatics or EHR System Management. Three years of performance improvement work, research or consultant experience, to include survey methodology, data base research and statistical analysis. Nursing background is preferred.
