The Enterprise Software Integration Architect is responsible to execute strategic plans by defining technical standards and providing operational direction for the department of Imaging Technology Solutions with respect to the business, technical infrastructure, and operations, including subject matter expertise with imaging related research and applications.
The Enterprise Software Integration Architect acts as leader and advisor to the Imaging Technology Solutions Department and works in collaboration with the Director, and managers, to oversee the technical delivery of Image Management solutions. This position impacts the quality of institutional imaging systems and imaging research through architectural design and delivery of Imaging Management solutions by executing strategic direction. The Architect has a substantial impact on the imaging application design / acquisition decisions in support of continuous value delivery throughout the Imaging Technology Solutions Department, IS Division, and the Institution. The architect evaluates new technologies and software vendors while continuously seeking opportunities to improve our existing business capabilities.
The Architect is expected to design and communicate software architecture models for complex enterprise-wide imaging system integrations. They will establish and facilitate architectural reviews and coordinate the various cross-functional teams to ensure the successful completion of any project they are overseeing. Assists managers with translating architectural direction into actionable project plans. The architect also participates in the definition and implementation of the overall imaging systems architecture to support a robust institutional image management data pipeline in support of both Clinical and Research imaging efforts.
Resource Management
Provides and articulates resource requirements, risk analysis and impact of requested information system projects on the institution to the appropriate area IS Steering Team, and related Work Groups
Functional and Technical Leadership
- Provides functional and technical collaborative leadership in the activities of complex application design, development, implementation, issue resolution, and support for MD Anderson Cancer Center.
- Liaise with the Enterprise Data Engineering and Analytics and Data Impact and Governance Teams to ensure efficient processes for cohort generation, alignment with data governance & provenance standards and model management principles are adhered to and considered when developing solutions.
- Liaise with IS Enterprise Development and Engineering technical teams to ensure supporting infrastructure and software needs are met and facilitate coordination between teams where there are common dependencies or overlapping technical concerns, to minimize duplication of effort.

Financial Management
Participates in the fiscal responsibility including overall budget performance for the acquisition, development, installation, implementation, and maintenance of all assigned projects and systems support.
Customer Relational Management

Education Required : Bachelor's degree.
Experience Required :
Ten years of experience in platform technology to include five years of experience in software integration, to include five years of supervisory / managerial experience.
May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and / or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Completion of both programs can be substituted for a maximum of two years of supervisory or management experience.
Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
