Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Front Office Behavioral Health Coordinator to join our team. This role will initially focus on clerical functions, serving as the front office receptionist for two Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) while coordinating with other cooperating clinic facilities. The position offers significant growth potential as our program expands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Front Office Reception:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
- Manage the reception area, ensuring it is clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Scheduling:
- Handle scheduling for psych/ ensuring efficient appointment management.
- Coordinate with PMHNPs to manage their schedules effectively, including complex scheduling for behavioral health services.
- Patient Interaction:
- Communicate with patients via phone and in-person at the window, providing information, answering questions, and managing expectations.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
- Administrative Duties:
- Process and manage referrals, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
- Verify insurance coverage for patients, understanding various insurance plans and requirements.
- Prepare and send out all necessary paperwork for compliance related to psychiatric care, ADHD assessments, and counseling services.
- Clerical Support:
- Maintain accurate patient records and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Assist with the preparation of patient charts, forms, and other documents as needed.
- Coordination:
- Work closely with other clinic facilities to ensure seamless patient care and administrative support.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss workflow, patient care, and administrative improvements.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in a healthcare administrative role, with experience in behavioral health settings highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance verification, and EHR systems.
- Skills:
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR software (e-clinicalworks).
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Customer service orientation with a compassionate approach to patient care.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
