GENERAL PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of this position is to work directly with the classroom teachers on the delivery of high-quality instructional practices and to help to support district curriculum resources. The instructional coach will support district and campus instructional initiatives by providing curriculum leadership to classroom teachers. Supporting classroom teaching by implementing high-leverage instructional strategies that ensure an aligned and articulated instructional program is vital to the success of the teacher and students. The Instructional Coach will work to improve teacher skills and capacity through coaching and mentoring. This position is functionally accountable to the Assistant Superintendent of Academics.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Instructional and Program Management
- Participate in reviewing, developing, and revising all subject area programs and related curriculum documents and materials, including curriculum guides, course outlines, and teaching plans. Assist campus teachers with effective implementation of the
- Develops and maintains positive professional relationships with ALL teachers and administrators.
- Recommends and provides feedback on instructional aids and materials. The Instructional Coach also ensures quality control of the curriculum management for ALL teachers on the campus.
- Performs individual and group instructional coaching for teachers to improve classroom instruction for all learners to support Tier II teachers.
- Models research-based literacy lessons and/or co-teaches in classrooms for those teachers identified as Tier II.
- Utilize available data sources to train teachers to disaggregate campus and district data to develop and maintain data walls.
- Mentors teachers by providing on-site coaching to increase capacity through effective implementation of IEP, 504, ESL, differentiation, and researched based instructional strategies.
- Motivate and inspire teachers throughout the year to assist with teacher retention and development.
- Support the District Curriculum Coordinators for all subject areas with analyzing district and campus student performance data to best determine student support and intervention, the acquisition of instructional materials, and re-teaching approaches.
- Monitors teacher and campus staff in reference to district-assessment calendars and needed common assessments.
- Manages and maintains the campus data rooms with the support and help of the campus principal
- Guides and supports core teachers based on classroom observations and weekly feedback forms. The Campus Instructional Coach should spend at least 70% of their week in classrooms and mentoring teachers.
- Oversees and organizes campus assessments including benchmarks and district assessments (I.E. NWEA, Mclass, etc), and assists the campus testing coordinator with state assessment planning.
Staff Development:
- Actively participates in all district staff development according to the academic calendar and provides continuous support for campus teachers based on district curriculum and district initiatives.
- Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback and assistance to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation. Demonstrate teaching strategies with and without students in classrooms.
- Plan and provide staff development for teachers, administrators, and staff to improve classroom and campus outcomes.
- Be a professional resource for instructional practices, classroom management, data disaggregation, and differentiated learning.
- Participates in professional learning opportunities and encourages ongoing professional development and growth for all teachers.
Technology:
- Understands the digital learner and promotes and models digital learning in the classroom.
- Assists ALL teachers with integrating technology in the classroom.
- Provides leadership and technical expertise to campus-level administration, teachers, and students for effective use of instructional technology.
Other:
- Maintains regular, on-time attendance.
- Practices confidentiality for teachers and students

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- Bachelor’s Degree
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to coach and mentor teachers and other professionals
- Ability to interpret data and evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
- Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners
- Ability to anticipate, plan, and meet deadlines - and encourage others to do the same
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
- A minimum of three years demonstrated success in classroom teaching
