The pharmacy manager directs professional pharmacists and technicians in completing a variety of assignments relating to prescription entry, interpretation and review of prescriptions, DUR, physician calls, issue resolution, and dispensing resulting in superior quality and compliance with regulatory standards.
Essential Functions of the Job:
● Oversees the daily prescription processing activities to ensure quality and standard of practice is maintained. Balance staffing needs in line with profitability plans and ensures work is processed efficiently to meet pharmacy performance standards.
● to ensure the department meets objectives and deliverables.
● Works closely with other Pharmacists and Front End Managers to develop and maintain work instructions specific to pharmacist functions designed to drive Best Practices across the pharmacy.
● Administers the quality program by monitoring established metrics, conducting root cause analysis, formulate corrective action and providing feedback to staff.
● Works with training team to ensure staff receives training on process changes and periodically as needed to maintain quality and efficiency standards.
● Serves as a department resource for escalated patient issues.
● Provides leadership to the departmental staff through positive motivation, setting realistic and attainable goals, and provides training on an ongoing basis.
● Provide specific task directives and deliver information about organizational goals.
● Administers performance appraisals and provides feedback to staff on a regular and consistent basis.
● Maintains a global working knowledge of the pharmacy and provides input on process changes.
● Partners across the organization to develop and implement solutions designed to improve member satisfaction.
● Work with Director of Clinical Services to implement and enhance all MTM programs, pharmaceutical care programs, clinical-based services, or any program that will benefit our patients.
● Provide excellent customer service

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Leadership role in the department includes, but is not limited to:
● Supervise all retail staff pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and sales associates.

● Performance standards used to measure success in the employee’s performance of the functions of this job description will be determined by the supervisor.
● All major issues, policy changes and recommendations are cleared first with the

Qualifications & Skills:

Preferred Education/Experience:
● BS or Pharm D degree in Pharmacy
● Licensed pharmacist in the State of WI with 3-5 years of supervisory experience, process management, and quality improvement preferred.
● Certified to Administer Vaccinations in WI
Skills:
● Knowledgeable and interested in proactive health care.
● Knowledgeable and interested in nutraceuticals.
● Computer skills in Google products and Pioneer pharmacy software preferred.
● Strong interpersonal communication skills including team leadership, problem and conflict resolution, training development, and listening.
