Clinical Support Staff - Pain Clinic

Job Summary: The Clinical Support Staff assists healthcare professionals in the delivery of excellent patient care in a fast-paced neurosurgery or orthopedic clinic setting.

Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday. (40 hours)

Location: 192nd & Dodge, 84th & Farnam

Essential Functions

· Greets patients and provides outstanding customer service and assistance.

· Clinical duties to include obtaining vitals, medication lists, allergies, and past medical history to document in an electronic medical record.

· Maintains HIPAA compliance.

· Obtains outside records including x-rays, MRIs, and any previous notes for the physician to review prior to the patient’s scheduled appointment for physician review.

· Reviews phone messages and collects patient concerns prior to sending to physician.

· Documents orders, referrals, testing, physical therapy, and restrictions ordered by the physician.

· Handles all prescription requests and sends to the physician for approval.

· Schedules all surgeries and sends orders to the hospital.

· Schedules all imaging, injections, EMGs and any other tests as needed that require prior authorization.

· Cleans and stocks exam rooms.

· Documents and meets the requirements of MIPS.

· Completes all quality standards meeting OSHA requirements.

· Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Experience in a clinical, hospital or nursing care facility, required.

· CNA, required.

· Medical Assistant or LPN, preferred.

· Experience in a neurosurgery or orthopedics setting, preferred.

WORK CONDITIONS:

· Must be able to tolerate intermittent physical activity, including sitting, standing, stooping, carrying, talking, seeing, bending, and handling. Position will require full range of motion and may be asked to lift items weighing up to 30 lbs.

· Office is in a healthcare clinic. Job will require contact with clinic staff, hospital staff, and patients; potential exposure to communicable and/or infectious diseases.
