Job Summary: Client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to work onsite at the DTE Fermi nuclear power plant. The successful candidate will be working as part of a team of engineers and designers preparing modification packages for mechanical systems serving the nuclear power industry. Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years of mechanical system design or modification experience with at least 2 years in a nuclear facility in the US
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (2 years nuclear) in the mechanical engineering field.
- The ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant.
- NANTeL Certified in the Nuclear Standard Design Process (IP-ENG-01)
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in US
- Experience with fluid flow software (AFT FATHOM, or Equivalent)
- Experience with Fire Protection and Detection Systems
- Develop design modification packages for mechanical systems at a nuclear power plant.
- Perform engineering calculations such as hydraulic analysis, equipment sizing, HVAC sizing, heat load analysis, and pressure loss calculations.
- Develop mechanical design and procurement specifications.
- Prepare engineering drawings such as Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID), General Arrangement (GA), Equipment Plan, Piping Orthographic and Isometric drawings.
- Develop material and workhour estimates as well as engineering and design schedules.
- Exercise sound engineering judgment in assessing problem situations or complex issues, review completed work to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design criteria.
- Interface with plant stakeholders to determine project scope/requirements, support construction/implementation and start up activities as required.
Salary : $110,000 - $120,000
