Job Summary:
- The Mine Supervisor/Mine Manager/Mine Superintendent is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of all mining activities to meet or exceed mining production and ore control objectives while supervising crews at the site.
- As a Mine Superintendent which is based at our Middleton, TN site you wlil provides leadership and support to our Heavy Equipment Operators, Exploration Drillers, Mine Crew Chief, and Mine Coordinator. This role oversees hourly employees and ensures that everyone is set up for the day/week.
- Responsibilities include mine planning, software uploads, reviewing core quality, coordinating with maintenance and production, and developing KPIs to ensure production targets are met.
- As a Mine Supervisor you works with production to understand their needs, including kiln schedules, which dictate weekly operations. Additionally, this role involves working with AutoCAD to identify future mining areas. This position offers a growth opportunity for a senior mining engineer or mining supervisor.

Essential Job Functions:
- Direct supervision of the mining crew and assignment of daily tasks.
- Ensure all mining personnel and contractors work in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, company policies, standards, and procedures.
- Coordinate the mine's resources (people, equipment, consumables, and facilities) to meet production targets.
- Ensure timely and proper reporting to all regulatory agencies, including TDEC and MDEQ.
- Complete all forms necessary for new, renewal, or modification of mining permits.
- Interact with government agencies during site visits and inspections.
- Ensure ore is mined according to the mine plan and maintain high standards for ore control.
- Coordinate with Corporate Mine Planning in developing the site mine plan and exploration drilling strategies.
- Conduct on-site drilling to evaluate ore for production.
- Update mine maps and pit progression in AutoCAD or similar software, utilizing drone flights and GPS technology.
- Perform routine inspections of all machinery, equipment, and the mine site.
- Perform daily pre-shift briefings, including safety and production topics.
- Meet performance metrics and communicate data to both the mining crew and staff at daily meetings.
- Conduct workplace exams and safety compliance audits.
- Meet the operating budget for the Mining Department.
- Ensure accurate payroll entries and approval of timecards.
- Manage crew scheduling to meet demand.
- Maintain safe and productive conditions on haul roads and the mine floor.
- Enter fault reports into JDE (JD Edwards) and coordinate with Maintenance for timely repairs on mobile and fixed equipment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar field.
- 0-5 years of experience in a mining environment.
- 0-3 years of supervision experience.
- Experience operating mobile equipment.
- Experience with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, or similar software.
- Experience dealing with government agencies.
- Mining degree or geology OR 10 years of direct mining experience.
- Experience with Excel.
- Experience with mobile equipment.
Salary : $88,500 - $159,700
