Job Overview:
- The Global Trade Compliance Senior Manager from Defense Industry who will be responsible for all trade compliance matters and will manage all trade compliance teams within the Broadband Communications Systems (BCS) sector of the Communication Systems (CS) segment. This role will oversee the development, implementation, and enforcement of trade compliance policies, processes, and procedures. The Senior Manager will supervise and coordinate the activities of the trade compliance team to ensure the successful execution of all assigned responsibilities.
- Additionally, this position will coordinate with the Licensing, Operations & Training, and Customs & Traffic Directorates to develop and implement compliant business solutions. This includes, but is not limited to, advising on the interpretation of U.S. Government (USG) trade laws and regulations for export approvals, training content, and requirements for appropriate actions and necessary documentation related to the physical export and/or import of all commodities.
- This role requires close collaboration with key stakeholders to support international sales opportunities and reports directly to the Global Trade Compliance Segment Director of Communication Systems. Leading a team of eight, this is an on-site position based in Salt Lake City, UT.
- Supervise sector trade compliance teams.
- Communicate trade requirements and status updates to division leadership.
- Implement corporate trade compliance policies and procedures.
- Develop and enforce effective trade compliance requirements across the sector, acting as an Empowered Official on behalf of the sector.
- Anticipate and proactively assess compliance posture.
- Prepare, review, and manage export authorizations and records.
- Foster a collaborative, transparent, and positive culture within the BCS sector.
- Work closely with leadership from Business Development, Program Management, Operations, Engineering, and other key functions to integrate trade compliance strategy into critical business pursuits.
- Continuously improve procedures to ensure timely completion of critical revenue licenses and Commodity Jurisdiction (CJ) determinations in alignment with the segment's and sector's financial objectives.
- Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of all investigations and compliance violations related to USG trade laws and regulations.
- Support Compliance Assistance Visits and compliance audits to assess trade compliance posture.
- Travel up to 20% domestically.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree with 12 years of prior export/import trade compliance experience, or a graduate degree with 10 years of experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of related experience is required.
- Minimum of 3 years leading a high-performing team.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with U.S. trade sanctions programs, including the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
- Strong ability to interpret USG laws and regulations while assessing risk management aspects.
- Experience with OCR EASE.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Previous experience in military operational and/or policy roles.
- Technical background.
- Background in the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program.
- Proactive, self-motivated, highly organized, and able to manage shifting priorities.

Salary : $110,000 - $191,000
