Job Summary: The Urology Faculty Practice is a high-volume clinic serving the adult population for a variety of Urological conditions. Our services include office visits, RN triage as well as Urological procedures. Manages the delivery of ambulatory patient care, which typically includes nursing, and may include laboratory, radiology, dental, etc. Facilitates the flow of patient care activities; may also participate in practice or center management operations.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of operational clinic work including RN telephone triage, RN procedures, Apex in Basket management
  • Management of clinic operational flow. Also manage the patient care delivery system to assure quality care, patient safety, standard work and compliance with internal policy, external regulations, and accepted practices across the continuum of care.
  • Allocates environmental, technical, and staffing resources.
  • May also manage the fiscal and administrative operations
  • Represents assigned clinics or centers on task forces or committees.
  • Participates to develop new programs, review technology improvements, design quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives, etc.
  • Develops staff in collaborative decision making and shared governance to ensure a shared voice in clinical care practice, exchange of ideas, enhanced communication, and continually improved clinical and patient care outcomes. Also collaborates with an interdisciplinary team of health care clinicians in efforts to develop healthcare policies, practice standards, and improve services
  • Manages patient care in a cost-effective manner, consistent with the financial goals of the organization. Plans and is accountable for the annual operative and capital budget for areas of responsibility.
  • Determines staffing needs and plans.
  • Monitors performance of clinic or center services. Coordinates activities with other clinics, centers, units, and/or departments in regard to patient care
  • Responsible for employee recruitment, performance evaluation, progressive discipline and staff development. Develops a strong culture of teamwork to ensure the quality of daily operations, effective interdepartmental collaborations, and the timely achieve
  • Keeps abreast of and implements new or changing patient care standards of practice, scope of practice, competency development and assessment, policies and procedures, and new programs in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Director
  • Collaborates with physicians and develops proposals for improvements
  • Collaborates and provides input, on marketing, facilities, and fiscal planning.
  • Drafts business plans to introduce quality improvements to clinical service delivery in accordance with best practices

Requirements

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California and / or licensure in relevant clinical specialty
  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
  • At least five years clinical RN experience
  • At least two years' managerial experience in an acute care or outpatient setting
  • Strong clinic/center patient care management skills. Practice management knowledge in scheduling, customer-service methods, regulatory compliance, accreditation requirements, and / or information technology. Broad knowledge of patient population served and the requirements for the delivery of services
  • Strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain a climate for effective communication and collaborative decision making
  • Strong leadership, fiscal, and operations management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, management, and staff from all disciplines. Ability to create and maintain a goal-oriented climate of teamwork and collaboration
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing, and compliance environments
  • Proven ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and delegate work functions efficiently

Required Skills

Required Skills and Certifications :

  • Minimum five years clinical RN experience.
  • Minimum two years managerial experience in acute care/outpatient setting.
  • Active CA RN license or licensure in relevant clinical specialty.
  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Experienced clinical manager.
  • Has worked in a union environment.
  • Has experience in an ambulatory environment - strongly preferred.
  • Surgical specialty experience.
  • Must have actual people management experience - has managed teams of LVNs, RNs, Techs, MAs, etc. ( We will not consider candidates with just lead or charge nurse experience)

  • Practice is both procedural and clinic.
  • Will support the operational flow and managerial aspects.
  • Will be patient-facing role, working alongside the team.
  • Requires a lot of multi-tasking; a fast-paced environment, challenging & complex.

Salary : $234,000 - $246,000
