Operations
The Metropolitan District is a non-profit municipal corporation chartered by the Connecticut General Assembly in 1929 to provide potable water and sewerage services on a regional basis. Today, the MDC provides quality water supply, water pollution control, mapping, and household hazardous waste collection to eight member municipalities - Bloomfield, East Hartford, Hartford, Newington, Rocky Hill, West Hartford, Wethersfield and Windsor - and to portions of other towns in the region. .
The Intern will report to 125 Maxim Road in Hartford.
The program will begin on June 2, 2025 and end on August 1, 2025

QUALIFICATIONS
College student currently enrolled in a BA, BS or Associate's program, majoring in business or communications. Prior customer service experience preferred.
The selected intern must possess a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Candidate must possess strong verbal & written communication skills. Must possess interest in acquiring knowledge about the operational functions of the water and sewer utility and facilitate work between the Ops staff and the customers. Ability to work under emergency conditions such as weather, water main breaks, sewer backups, and remain calm while providing necessary communications between MDC staff and the customer. Candidate should be self motivated, well organized, responsible and have the ability to work well with others.
