Position Description:
This is a part-time, flexible position that supports leasing needs across multiple MDI communities. The Floating Leasing Agent will fill in on an as-needed basis to cover temporary staffing needs, assist during busy periods, and support the leasing team with general leasing tasks. Travel between properties within a 40-mile radius of Salem may be required, and mileage reimbursement is available for work-related travel.
Job Summary:
As a Floating Leasing Agent, you will play an essential role in supporting leasing activities across our portfolio. You’ll assist prospects, conduct property tours, help with applications, and provide excellent customer service. Your ability to adapt to new environments and maintain leasing consistency will be key.
Responsibilities:
Leasing:
• Greet prospects and qualify them based on leasing criteria.
• Record all telephone and in-person inquiries and visits promptly.
• Conduct community and apartment/model tours with strong product knowledge to match client needs.
• Assist with completing applications, collecting deposits, and adhering to Fair Housing regulations.
• Process applications and update vacancy reports.
• Follow up with prospects or refer them to sister communities when appropriate.
• Assist with move-in paperwork and payment collection.
• Support lease renewals and monitor advertising effectiveness.
Additional Duties:
• Assist with curb appeal and minor tasks as requested by the manager.
• Complete all necessary forms and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
• Respond to management requests and task assignments promptly.
General Responsibilities:
• Thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
• Communicate effectively with property managers regarding leasing needs and supply requests.
Requirements:
• Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to travel between MDI properties within a 40-mile radius of Salem.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.
• Prior leasing or customer service experience preferred.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Detail-oriented with strong organization and communication skills.
• Commitment to Fair Housing laws and company policies.
Working Conditions:
• Primarily office-based with some outdoor activities (e.g., tours, curb appeal).
• Flexible work hours may include evenings or weekends depending on property needs.
• Interaction with prospective and current residents, as well as on-site team members.
• May be exposed to various weather conditions while on-site.
