Searching for a Lead Linux Engineer for a financial industry client based in the Dallas area to join their Linux/AWS EC2 engineering team. The team is responsible for Red Hat Linux servers in colocation facilities as well as the EC2 instances in the cloud. Their goal is to maintain a stable, healthy, and scalable platform, providing resiliency and solid performance for all Red Hat Linux servers across our business units through automation, best practices, and SME support.
The Linux Engineer will lead projects and provide the planning, engineering, and delivery of business scalable infrastructure solutions to meet timeline and needs while ensuring design compliance and enforcement of the latest best practices and technology standards.
The successful Engineer will have the following experience/background:
at least 10 years demonstrated experience in Information Technology with in-depth knowledge of Linux and Infrastructure Engineering; College degree or equivalent experience
2 years of development experience in AWS services Code Pipeline, Code build, Cloud Formation templates, Systems manager, AWS lambda
experience with scripting and automation using (Python and /or Ansible, and shell or bash scripting)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines for code versioning and code deployments
Ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members
Understanding of vulnerability management and risk remediation
Experience in HA and DR concepts as they apply to Infrastructure Designs
Experience with Infrastructure migrations (on prem to cloud)
Communicates well within the team to set clear goals and effectively relay the status and accomplishments to management
