Operational Medicine Clinic- Primary Care
The Operational Medicine Clinic is an Air Force Medical Home comprised of three clinical teams that support active duty service members.
We aim to improve the health of our active duty population by providing safe, evidence-based health care. Our primary care services focus on illness prevention, screening, and treatment.
- Evaluate, Diagnose, and Treat Patients: Conduct comprehensive evaluations, diagnose conditions, and provide treatment and consultations on an outpatient basis.
- Preventive Health Care: Identify and implement strategies to prevent adverse human factors and physiological responses to hostile biological and physical stresses in the aerospace and operational environment.
- Apply Medical Principles: Utilize primary care principles, preventive medicine, and occupational medicine in daily duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree/Education: Graduate from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 years full-time experience within the last 3 years.
- Board Certification: Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistants (NCCPA).
- Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in any state
- DEA Registration: DEA registration numbers are required for this position
- BLS and ACLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
CORE DUTIES
- Provide a full range of Physician Assistant services in primary and specialty medical care within the limits of their training and privileges granted by the MTF (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).
- Technically direct and provide care for a variety of diseases and types of injuries (i.e., acute, chronic and minor trauma), and the skills to recognize emergency conditions in order to diagnose, prescribe for and treat diseases, disorders and injuries, and refer the more complex cases and serious conditions to qualified medical personnel and perform designated treatment.
- Technically direct and teach other staff, provide educational lectures and participate in in-service training to staff members.
- Promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals,
- Perform specific diagnostic and therapeutic practices and procedures in accordance with scope of practice.
- Establish collaborative rapport with physicians, nurses and others in order to promote and facilitate primary care services.
- Teach patients and family members healthy regimens and responsibility for achieving wellness.
- Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement.
- Recognize conditions that require isolation and ensure universal precautions are used in all patient encounters.
- Excellent written communication skills to perform accurate documentation, both written and electronic, of all activities in accordance with requirements.
- Ensures a safe work environment, employee safe work habits and patient safety IAW regulatory agencies, infection control policies, and process improvement initiatives.
- Physician Assistant to perform deployment-related health assessment (DRHA) and annual mental health assessment (MHA) services that comply with applicable Department of Defense and Air Force policy and guidance, to include required standards of care and clinical practice guidelines.
- Promote health behaviors and self-care through both formal and individual education and counseling.
- Prescribe in accordance with approved treatment protocols and the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee-approved medications and immunizations.

Salary : $135,000 - $142,000
