This role is responsible for coordinating and ensuring that all insurance correspondence, inclusive of insurance companies, members, and patients, on behalf of the MDVIP affiliated physicians are complete, accurate, approved and in accordance with Insurance Services time-lines and policies. The Insurance Services Coordinator provides support, maintains accurate records, ensures timely follow-up, and communicates effectively with insurance companies, members, physicians, physician’s staff, and MDVIP field and internal staff. Additionally, this rile provides assistance and guidance based on insurance principles, regulations, and department policies and procedures to ensure consistency related to application of processes and best practice outcomes.

This role may be eligible for a hybrid in office/work from home schedule based on department needs after 90 days of employment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate all aspects of physician’s insurance needs in accordance with departmental policy and procedures. Addresse all insurance issues appropriately and in accordance to departmental protocols for all affiliated and/or MDVIP employed physician practices.
- Identify insurance companies contracted by the physician and coordinate the various communications on behalf of physician or MDVIP.
- Review, update, and notate physician accounts in the all databases accurately and in accordance with departmental policy including but not limited to: Internal checklists, physician insurances (PI) and mail tracking.
- Adhere to all HIPPA and privacy regulations and department policies and provide exemplary customer service which includes answering all insurance related inbound inquires within 24 hours (email or phone) in accordance to department policies.
- Prepare Insurance Services PowerPoint presentations for physician corporate visits (training/sales).
Qualifications
Associate’s degree (A A.) and at least two year's related business experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience where two years related experience equals one year of schooling. Related experience in a similar healthcare insurance customer focused, and coordinator or team lead role is required. Experience in insurance or healthcare is required
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Openly collaborates to ensure department objectives are met
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Prior experience working with a CRM database/Salesforce desirable.
