Job Summary

Facilitates, plans and coordinates the operations of the clinical and front office functions of a Primary Care physician office while ensuring patient satisfaction.

The work environment can be fast-paced, but results are accomplished in a steady, thorough manner to ensure accuracy.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Knowledge:
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or where 2 years of equivalent experience equal to 1 year of schooling.
- 3 years of progressive experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a healthcare practice setting.
- Experience with EHR systems required (Athena preferred).
- Experience compiling and condensing technical and statistical data for reports and records.
- Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems and objectives.
- Knowledge of primary clinical office procedures.
- Familiarity with medical practice terminology.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/Powerpoint/Word).
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists Practice Manager with developing and implementing short and long-term work plans and objectives for Medical Office staff.
- Maintains guidelines for quality of patient care by practice staff, prioritizing work activities, evaluating effectiveness, and modifying activities as necessary to ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
- Responsible for time-clock supervision and paid time off requests.
- Identifies, analyzes, and resolves issues that may affect practice operations.
- Monitors front office staff and acts as first line resource to address office workflow. Assists with the hiring and development of medical office staff.
- Responsible for various administrative duties to include but not limited to maintaining adequate supply inventory, invoices, processing incoming mail, and office opening and closure process according to established procedures.
- Manages medical billing processes, including but not limited to charge review, billing, follow-up, refunds, point of service collection, and cash handling.
- Maintains strict adherence to patient rights and privacy guidelines.
