Job Summary

MDVIP Practice Management, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team! Physician Practice setting where you will be responsible to work under the general and clinical direction of our physicians to provide the optimum patient care experience. You will work with the team to deliver direct patient care, collaborate with patients and families, physicians and other members of the health care team. 

 

Responsible for direct patient care and assisting the physician in all areas. In addition, responsible for providing support to all other departments within the practice related to customer service and overall patient care.

Qualifications

Completion of Accredited Registered Nursing Program and 3 years related primary care practice experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience where two years related experience equals one year of schooling.

Required skills include:

  • Knowledge and skill to assist in giving patient care in areas of taking vital signs and applying medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment, technology, and instruments to administer patient care. Maintaining records through EHR system.
  • Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medications as directed.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards, and interpret and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquires. Coordinates and assists in the scheduling of specialist visits/treatment visits for the patient
  • Triage inbound calls; responds to questions regarding medications, treatment, and instructions.
  • Administers prescribed medications in accordance with nursing standards to observe, record, and report patient’s condition. Advises physician of adverse reactions to treatments.
  • Obtains appropriate and accurate patient information such as; demographics, medical history, and other relevant items to document records in Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Performs lab duties; including but not limited to, phlebotomy, order entry, collects specimen, establishes chain of custody is applicable, and labels for deliver to appropriate authority for delivery.
  • Delivery of appropriate immunizations as determined by provider’s order.
  • Records vital signs, injections and applies, splints and dressings as applicable.
  • Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments, including inventory of supplies and equipment, and assists with minor surgery and other procedures.
  • Follow up of patient test results and communication with patients where appropriate.
