The Medical Laboratory Scientist I must be knowledgeable of concepts and theories of, molecular biology, basic microbiology methods, molecular biology techniques, microbial culture techniques, and biochemical tests and nucleic acid-based detection assays to perform a variety for both routine and complex clinical laboratory tests in accordance with established processes and procedures. These require a level of knowledge to properly execute and analyze results, especially where results are abnormal or atypical.
- The position is in our Plano, Texas laboratory.
- Shift is Wednesday to Saturday, 9 : 30am to 7 : 30pm. (a four ten schedule)
- Bachelor’s degree in medical technology / clinical or medical laboratory science or an appropriate biological, chemical, or physical science required and ASCP Certification preferred.
- Minimum 6 months experience performing laboratory testing in a clinical setting to include tests CLIA classified as high complexity.
- Molecular experience preferred.
- Experience working with LIMS database, quality systems and lab automation.
- Must have good reasoning ability, be knowledgeable of clinical pathology processes and use organizational skills to meet established turnaround time deadlines.
- Hiring salary range : $25.15 - $26.00. The actual rate will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
