MECHANIC

(Full Time, Permanent Opportunity)
Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County, PA is seeking a hardworking, reliable, safety-oriented applicant for the position of Mechanic within the Department of Public Works.
This position is responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of all assigned equipment and vehicles, the keeping of accurate maintenance records and the scheduling of maintenance or repair work, as well as conducting vehicle and equipment safety inspections.
Periodically assists other Municipal Service Department functions and operations, including on-call duty.
This position requires knowledge of maintenance & repair requirements for a variety of vehicles and equipment as well as safety rules and regulations, and accident prevention practices.
Successful applicant must be available to be on-call for snow and other weather emergencies and have the ability to interact with the public in a courteous way, work independently and with others.
Required Experience:
Must have a valid PA Commercial Drivers License Class-B; Class-A is preferred, with a clean driving record.
Specialized training in automotive and mechanic repair work.
Two (2) years experience in maintenance and repair, and a PA State Inspectors License.
The successful candidate must submit to background checks and pre-employment screening.
Benefits:
This position is full-time, non-exempt.
Salary/wage is commensurate with relevant experience. We offer Excellent Benefits.
Minimum starting salary: $24.26 per hour. *Actual salary to be based on qualifications, as per contract.
