What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry-Level Airport Civil Engineer position at Mead & Hunt, Inc?
Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has an exciting opportunity available for an Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our Aviation Group at either our Fargo or Bismarck, ND office.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing plans and specifications
- Analyzing and preparing engineering reports, and construction cost estimates for various airport design projects
- Performing drafting tasks in AutoCAD and Civil3D to generate plan sheets
- Assisting with construction administration and inspection tasks including working in the field at project sites (weekends and nights, as needed)
- Reading and interpreting FAA Advisory Circulars, geotechnical reports, and survey data to utilize in project designs
A valid driver's license, the ability to pass background check to gain access to airport sites, and some travel will be required.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering from an accredited college or be able to obtain the degree within six months of hire date.
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:
- AutoCAD and/or Civil3D software programs
- Comfortable with public speaking and working in a client facing role
- Civil/transportation design coursework
- Construction field tasks including site grading, utilities, drainage, erosion control, paving, materials testing, and/or surveying
- Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project software programs
