What are the responsibilities and job description for the Water Technician position at Mead & Hunt, Inc?
Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a regular, full-time position available for a water technician. Responsibilities include responding to emergency conditions, mechanical failures, and power outages; laboratory sampling and recordkeeping; preparing field reports; water quality sampling; safety inspections, operation of wastewater and water treatment systems, and general maintenance of vehicles, work areas, and equipment. The ability to respond promptly to emergencies, filling in for operators when needed and some travel will be required.
The successful candidate will have:
- A certificate (or higher) in water technology or a related field
OR, if no certificate
- At least one year of relevant experience
AND
- A valid driver's license with the ability to pass an MVR
The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:
- Michigan and D Wastewater license and Water D5
- Water Quality Sampling
- Safety Inspections
- Storm Water experience
- Experience Maintaining piping, pumps, valves, and tanks for treatment plants
- Operating and maintaining instrumentation experience
- Laboratory sampling and recordkeeping experience
- Experience Preparing field reports
- General maintenance of vehicles, work areas, and equipment; principles and methods of bacteriological and chemical water/wastewater treatment experience
- Experience with wastewater systems and water n systems
- Previous Safety training
