Bridge Engineer

Mead & Hunt is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Transportation team as a Bridge Engineer. This role will sit in our Charleston, WV office.

Responsibilities Include

• Drafting and designing transportation bridge plans using various software programs, such as AASHTO, BrR, MDX, LEAP Bridge
• Preparing and modifying reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, and designs
• Leading QA/QC tasks; developing construction cost estimates
• Attending client meetings
• A valid license and some travel will be required
  
  

The successful candidate will have all of the following

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil engineering from an accredited college or university AND at least six years of relevant work experience
• PE license in any state (preferably West Virginia), or the ability to obtain within six months of hire
  
  

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:

• Preparing construction plans for bridges using MicroStation software
• Structure layout and geometry
• WVDOH experience including Structural Directive and Standard Specifications
• QA/QC for bridge projects
