Responsibilities Include
- Inspect Transportation Construction Projects: Ensure all work and materials meet project plans, proposals, and specifications
- Perform Key Measurements & Calculations: Verify weights, volumes, and measurements to ensure accuracy
- Prepare “As-Built” Documentation: Plot and run cross sections, and document project progress
- Conduct Materials Testing: Ensure materials meet quality standards throughout the project lifecycle
- Daily Documentation: Record all inspection activities and findings in detailed reports
- Work Outdoors: Enjoy the variety of working in different weather conditions and environments
- Physical Responsibilities: Be prepared for heavy lifting and manual tasks as part of the inspection process
- Travel Across the Region: Potentially visit Construction sites in Horry, Georgetown, Florence, Marion, Darlington, Dillon, Williamsburg and Marlboro Counties
- Independent Work: Take ownership of your tasks and work with minimal supervision
- Flexible Hours & Travel: Expect extended hours and occasional overnight stays as part of the role
The successful candidate will hold at least two applicable certifications, and one of the following:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field
- -OR- An Associate’s Degree in Construction Management or related field AND two (2) years of relevant experience
- -OR-If no degree, at least four (4) years of relevant experience
- SCDOT Certifications
- Erosion Control Certifications
