As a result, Mead & Hunt is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Transportation team as a Roadway Engineer in our Transportation group. This opportunity is available at our Tallahassee or Tampa, FL office locations.
Responsibilities include:
- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents, computations and quantity estimates
- Assists with analysis and preparation of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, permits, and designs for projects
- Assists with development of probable construction cost estimates for projects
- Carries out job-specific quality system tasks as defined in quality manual
- May visit project sites to monitor progress and perform other duties per the contract documents
- May serve as onsite project representative
- May assist with client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects
- May attend client meetings
- Other duties as assigned
A valid driver’s license and some travel will be required.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil engineering or related field from an accredited four-year college or university AND at least two (2) years of industry experience. EIT certification is preferred.
The ideal candidate will have experience in any/all of the following:
- 2-5 years of experience preferred
- FDOT and municipal roadway design projects preferred
- FDOT experience, including Florida Design Manual and Standard Plans preferred
- MS Office
