Mead & Hunt is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Transportation team as a Hydraulics & Stormwater Engineer in Raleigh, NC.
Responsibilities include:
- Serves as a project engineer on projects and as a technical resource and/or project manager
- May assist with or lead marketing pursuits and/or act as a client contact
- May perform supervisory duties related to the assigned projects
- Assists with pricing, estimating, and scoping for proposed projects
- Prepares and/or monitors budgets and work-in-process for specific tasks within assigned projects
- Develops probable construction cost estimates for specific tasks within assigned projects
- Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies,
and designs for projects
- Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering
and design documents
- Performs and/or oversees quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual
- Visits project sites to monitor progress and handles routine construction administration
- May serve as onsite project representative
- Attends client meetings - days or nights
- Other duties as assigned
A valid driver’s license and some travel will be required.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in engineering from an accredited college or university and at least 6 years of experience. A PE license is required.
The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:
- Familiarity with NCDOT Hydraulics Unit design guidelines, policies and procedures
- Experience with Microstation, Geopak Drainage, ORD, H&H software (HEC-RAS, EPA SWMM, HydroCAD)
- Experience with Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GIS), Low Impact Design (LID), Stormwater Control Measure/BMP design
