Description:
The primary goal of this position is to help students acquire information and skills that contribute to their development into mature, able, and responsible individuals. This involves planning and implementing a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and skill levels of students, creating a classroom environment conducive to learning, and preparing for assigned classes.
In addition, the successful candidate will strive to implement the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives through instruction and action. They will assess the learning needs of students on a regular basis and seek assistance from district specialists when needed. The teacher will also maintain accurate records and confidentiality as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
Furthermore, the teacher will assist in implementing policies and rules governing student conduct for the classroom and school-related activities. They will make provisions for being available for scheduled students and conferences with parents outside the instructional day. The teacher will plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher aides and volunteers and evaluate their job performance in cooperation with department heads or principals.
The selected candidate will be expected to attend staff meetings, serve on staff committees, and act in accordance with the by-laws and policies set forth by the School/Council/Meade County Board of Education, Kentucky Revised Statutes, and Kentucky Administrative Regulations, as well as applicable Federal law and regulations. Finally, they will perform other duties as assigned by the Principal in accordance with the best interest of the school, students, and District.
