Role Overview
The APM is responsible for assisting and supporting assigned Project Managers (PMs) in planning, administration, execution, client satisfaction, and the financial outcome of projects. This role provides critical support to project teams by managing project controls, coordinating subcontractors, supporting financial processes, and ensuring compliance with company and safety standards. The APM is expected to take initiative in problem-solving, provide recommendations to the Project Manager, and assist in decision-making when appropriate to keep the project moving efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Function as a direct support to the PM, completing tasks as assigned.
- Assist with project coordination and controls, including tracking RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, quality controls, safety, and financial performance.
- Analyze reports and use insights to prioritize tasks, preventing delays to critical activities.
- Support job cost analysis and financial tracking.
- Monitor and maintain project schedules using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6).
- Assist with construction billings, cash flow, and application for payment verification.
- Support the change management process, including updating logs, routing source documents, obtaining pricing, developing estimates, writing change orders, and related tasks.
- Assist with contract administration, including negotiating and executing contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
- Participate in project closeout activities, ensuring timely completion, punch list management, and as-built documentation.
- Maintain project documentation, including reports, meeting minutes, and other necessary records.
- Assist in subcontractor management and vendor coordination, including material deliveries and storage.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- Assist in identifying and mitigating risks to ensure project success. Provide support in resolving issues related to project delays, subcontractor performance, budget overruns, and unforeseen site conditions.
- Work closely with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment with project goals and expectations. Assist in maintaining strong client relationships through effective communication and responsiveness.

Minimum Requirements
- B.S. degree in Engineering or Construction Management (or actively pursuing) OR equivalent experience (5 years in a related role).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and project management tools.
- Strong understanding of project administration, financials, and scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR certifications.
- Experience with Primavera P6 scheduling software.
- Document control experience.
- Knowledge of construction means and methods.
- Commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.
Position Details
This is a full-time position. While this job description outlines the core responsibilities, flexibility is required as additional duties may arise based on project needs. This role will require travel to project sites, specifically in Louisiana and the Midwest, including Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana.

Actual Compensation will depend on several factors, such as location, professional experience, education, relevant training, transferable skills, organizational needs, and current market trends.
