ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST
Our client is a public entity who serves as a local government administration agency. The general responsibilities of this role center around ensuring wastewater compliance according to state, federal, and local regulatory requirements.
They are seeking a ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST (WASTEWATER) to join their team in CLEAR LAKE HOUSTON AREA.

This ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST opportunity is a long-term, direct-hire, role with great benefits including an impressive 401K.
Compensation for this role is $80K-$104K, depending on experience. Work hours are MONDAY-FRIDAY for an estimated 40 hours/week. This role is fully on-site and may require minimal travel within Houston Area.

The Expectations for the ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST:
Report Management: Ensure timely submission of all required environmental reports (state, federal, local). Perform emissions calculations and review new regulations for relevance to the facility.
Compliance Oversight: Track and communicate compliance activities for industrial clients. Maintain a schedule of compliance due dates.
Sampling and Records: Coordinate sampling events, maintain compliance records, and oversee laboratory testing and permit reporting. Communicate regulatory requirements and compliance status to relevant staff.
Permit Management: Monitor and manage permit expiration dates. Notify users of expiring permits and assist with renewal applications.
Permit Evaluation: Assess proposed changes in influent to ensure compliance with permits. Advise the Facility Manager on recommendations.
Lab Data Review: Evaluate lab and quality assurance/control data. Address any issues with the Lab Manager and alert relevant staff to compliance problems.
Training and Representation: Review waste profiles, attend annual training, and represent the company at regulatory meetings and conferences.
Emergency Response and Coordination: Respond to critical situations, help maintain accurate contact lists, and coordinate with management and environmental staff.
The Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree; REQUIRED
- 5 years of WASTEWATER TREATMENT experience; REQUIRED
- Knowledge of AIR and WATER PERMITS and STORMWATER with experience in 2 of the 3
