The Company:
Our client is an industrial services provider that has been proudly servicing the Houston area for over 20 years. They are looking for a full-time contract Payroll Assistant to join their team for $18-$22/hr. This position is located in the Deer Park area (77536).
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate has a foundation in payroll processes, with preferred experience in tax administration. They should be proficient in Excel and capable of handling various administrative tasks, including processing employee changes, managing garnishments, responding to unemployment claims, and maintaining payroll reports. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to support payroll specialists effectively are essential for success in this role.
The Expectations:
- Backup to the Payroll Specialists
- Sort mail
- Respond to unemployment claims
- Respond to VOE requests
- Setup child support orders, garnishments, IRS levies, lock-out letters in ViewPoint
- Process employee changes β address, direct deposit, W-4, etc.
- Update direct deposit pre-notes to active every Monday
- Update GTL report every Friday
- Weekly Per Diem/Layoff Estimates for ADP account
- Update weekly manhour/payroll dollar reports for budget
- Additional tasks as assigned.
Experience and Education:
- Intermediate knowledge in Excel
- Some payroll experience preferred
- Tax experience preferred
