Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Terminal Manager to oversee and direct terminal operations for one of our large clients. This role includes managing operations, maintenance, shipping/receiving, and ensuring operational efficiency while adhering to regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise, leadership, and experience in bulk liquid storage and terminal management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage terminal operations, including maintenance, shipping, and receiving.
- Implement cost-effective systems to control capital and operational expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries.
- Oversee capital asset maintenance and ensure equipment is in top condition.
- Establish and monitor terminal performance metrics for operations and quality standards.
- Supervise and coordinate terminal staff, including recruitment, training, performance management, and corrective actions.
- Ensure staff complies with HSSE, operational, and company-wide policies and procedures.
- Plan and coordinate customer service activities in collaboration with sales and operations teams.
- Manage repairs or recommend replacements for equipment as needed.
- Provide leadership, training, and development to achieve company goals.
- Make recommendations for improving terminal efficiency and processes.
- Develop, implement, and manage mandatory regulatory records, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
- Oversee the preventative maintenance (PM) program for terminal equipment.
- Prepare and monitor the operational budget, ensuring expenditures align with budgetary parameters.
Requirements:
Must-Haves:
- Hands-on experience in bulk liquid storage and terminal operations.
- Expertise with pumps, valves, tanks, and related terminal equipment.
- Proven leadership experience in managing facilities with 10 bulk liquid storage tanks.
- Strong understanding of terminal processes and maintenance needs.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for degree requirements.
- A minimum of 5 years in terminal or general management, with terminal management experience highly preferred.
- Experience in terminal, refinery, or tank vessel operations.
- Preference for terminal management from the industry of: refinery, chemical, tank vessel or chemical storage.
- Storage of tanks would be plus if familiar with: Ethane, Propane, Butane, Natural Gasoline, Jet Fuel, Oils, etc.
- Preference for experience dealing with truck loading, tank car loading, barge loading, etc.
