Job Description
Dietary Aides are responsible for providing food service to the tenants of Marquis Senior Communities in a positive and friendly manner. Services may include – related services, set-up and clean-up of dining room, food preparation, serving food, and dishwashing.
Essential Job Functions (Including but not limited to the following)

Communicate effectively with tenants, families, staff and other customers.

Read, write and comprehend simple instructions.

Complete simple food preparation.

Assemble, dish and plate food according to the scheduled menu and manage portion control when serving food.

Maintain high quality food standards.
-
Practice strict personal hygiene.
-
Utilize gloves when handling cold and ready to eat foods.

Monitor time and temperature of foods.
-
Avoid cross-contamination.
-
Store and label foods properly.
-
Wash and sanitize tables.
-
Set tables with place settings and condiments.
-
Prepare beverages and serve per tenant request.

Transport food and supplies to other areas of the building.

Meet time schedule of meal service.
-
Follow service etiquette.
-
Be sensitive to and meet the needs of the tenants, following through with their requests.

Clear tables between courses and at the end of the meal service.

Operate dishwasher according to directions.

Scrape, rinse, rack, wash, air dry and put dishware and kitchenware away.

Use checklists to complete daily, weekly and monthly tasks.
Required Qualifications

High school education.
-
Previous work experience with food service, production and cooking.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Related training or experience preferred.

Experience working with senior adults; knowledgeable and sensitive to the needs and concerns of the senior population.
Working Conditions

Ability to lift/carry objects weighing up to approximately 30 lbs. or more.

Minimal exposure to Blood borne Pathogens, Infectious Diseases.

Exposure to cleaning chemicals, fumes or airborne particles.

Exposure to extreme cold and extreme heat.

Exposure to unpredictable people, behaviors, situations and pets.

Exposure to illnesses and frailties of tenants.
