What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping/Laundry Aide position at Meadow View Nursing Center?
Perform routine housekeeping services which include the cleaning of furniture, equipment, floors, walls, windows, toilets, mirrors, sinks, etc. and the emptying of waste baskets.
Assist in keeping residents' rooms clean and orderly.
Perform project cleaning as requested. This may include windows, wheelchairs, etc.
Maintain good relationships with residents, visitors and other staff members.
A Laundry Aide is responsible for providing clean linen and clothing articles for the residents of the facility.
The general purpose of the Laundry Aide is to clean the linens and clothing articles of the facility for the residents according to State and Federal Guidelines.

Specific responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following : Perform assigned day-to-day laundry functions, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, stacking and distribution of laundry articles.
- Follow established policies and procedures of the Laundry Department.
- Fold, stack, hang and deliver linen.
- Maintain Laundry Department in a clean, safe and sanitary manner.
- Assist in washing, soaking and drying clothes as necessary.
- Follow rules and regulations of the facility.
- Retrieve soiled linens from the nursing unit if they are not delivered to the Laundry Department.
- Assist in compiling data for production and inventory reports.
- Ensure that established infection control practices are maintained when performing laundry measures.
- Ensure that work / assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies etc., are properly stored at all times, including before leaving such areas for breaks, mealtimes, and end of the work day.
- Follow established fire safety policies and procedures.
- Assist others in lifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc., as directed or requested.
- Report all accidents / incidents to the supervisor.
- Maintain the confidentiality of resident care information.
- Honor the residents’ personal and property rights.
- Turn in all found articles to the supervisor.
- Attend departmental and staff meetings.
- Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs.
Hours : Day shift and every other weekend
