Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure all food production and meal preparation tasks are performed in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Support the culinary team by performing food handling duties, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables or other ingredients.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries regarding meal options and dietary restrictions.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal delivery and presentation.
- Participate in inventory management, including tracking supplies and reporting shortages as needed.
Experience
- Previous experience in food production or food preparation is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations is essential.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Experience in a culinary setting or hospital environment is a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
