Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. This role is essential in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with varying needs in settings such as assisted living facilities, group homes, and home care environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents while respecting their rights and dignity.

Duties
As a Direct Support Professional, your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Monitoring the health and well-being of residents, providing patient monitoring to ensure their safety and comfort.
• Supporting memory care initiatives for residents with cognitive impairments by engaging them in meaningful activities.
• Upholding resident rights by advocating for their needs and preferences in all aspects of care.
• Collaborating with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive support.
• Providing hospice care when necessary, ensuring that residents receive compassionate end-of-life care.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment within the facility or home setting.
• Documenting care provided and any changes in resident conditions accurately.

Qualifications
To be considered for the Direct Support Professional position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• Previous experience in caregiving roles such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, group homes, or home care settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of resident rights and advocacy principles is essential.
• Familiarity with memory care practices and hospice care procedures is a plus.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
• A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
