Summary:
The Manager, Accounts Payable is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Accounts Payable department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills to manage a team of AP Specialist, maintain financial records, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor a team of two Accounts Payable Analysts, providing training and development opportunities.
- Delegate tasks effectively, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback.
- Accounts Payable Processes:
- Oversee the entire invoice processing lifecycle, from receipt to payment.
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry and coding of invoices.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all AP transactions.
- Cash Flow Management:
- Prepare and maintain a daily rolling cash forecast to assist the VP of Finance in prioritizing payments.
- Negotiate payment terms and establish payment schedules with vendors to optimize cash flow.
- Vendor Relations:
- Act as a liaison between the company and vendors, resolving any issues or disputes.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors.
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist in month-end closing and year-end audit procedures.
- Prepare 1099 forms and maintain accurate records.
- Special Projects:
- Assist the VP of Finance and Accounts Receivable Manager on special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounts Payable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and accounting software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
